tested door latch switches, found one to not be closing

replaced latch assembly with part # 154434101

customer complaint.... no bake

opened control panel, set range to bake and tested for voltage at the electronic control between L2 out(brown wire) and P3 bake(yellow wire), found 0 volts... if the range control is working it should be 240 volts

advised customer the unit needed the control, gave quote, after customer agreed i went to the truck got part and installed

i stock this ERC its common and a good seller

customer complaint... not all loads are dry at end of cycle

started machine in spin, machine began to pick up speed normally so i removed front access panel, found broken shock, stopped machine

changed shock with new metal shock kit part #134564200

retested machine till spin ramped up to full speed

elecrolux range model e30ew7cess3

customer complaint.... intermittently the oven will flask error "remove racks" while oven is not in use

this range will only ask for racks to be removed when self clean is activated

customer advised me error started after another service company had changed the convection fan... when said company went to test range after install there was a flash/boom, this company then removed oven from wall again, taped some wires retested and left

tested all functions of oven repeatly over several cups of coffe with customer, advised customer because i could not reproduce error i would contact electrolux because the last company had preformed repairs under warranty

returned again this week with a helper to remove oven and a complete control panel assembly provided by frigidaire at no charge, removed oven,inspected all wiring, found wire to bake element maretted, freeded up a bit of slack on wire and it reached the bake element so i installed a new spade terminal, changed control panel reinstalled oven and tested all function over an expresso(customer has a VERY nice kitchen) everything tested ok

that was tuesday, its thursday night now and no call on the cell so here is to hoping i excorcised the ghost

frigidaire fridge model frt124fw0 fridge not cooling

customer complaint.... fresh food section not cooling

removed freezer cover and found evaporator frosted(note.. i am finding this model with abnormal frost build-up, the bottom of the evaporator is clear but the top half is frosted and coated in solid ice)

this tells me the fridge is not completely defrosting each defrost cycle

advanced timer into defrost manually and the heater came on, i sat and watched it defrost for several minutes, i then removed the thermal fuse from the freezer and plugged in my by-pass so i could begin to defrost the unit with a steamer

heater stayed on almost the entire time i defrosted the evaporator untill i had to clear the ice from around the DTS, heater turned off and shortly after the timer cycled the fridge back on

now to me this whole process seemed to work properly, but i know the ice build-up was not cause by someone leaving a door open or what not

so once again i'll be calling the frigidaire techs and explaining this AGAIN to see if they have a better answer than... change everything cause both the timer and DTS are doing what they are designed to do

any techs with input please post your comments cause i'm getting to hate this lil LG built frigidaire

kenmore fridge model 25358689893 icemaker not working

customer complaint... no ice

tech noted construction on boulevard

tested water dispensor, no water

i had recently changed the icemaker for this customer so started in the back of the fridge with the primary water valve, removed outlet hose and depressed water dispensor, no water flow, tested valve for power.. tested ok

advised customer primary valve would need to be changed and filter should also be changed again because of the water main repairs even though i had just changed it 2 months ago

customer complaint.... leaks

removed front panel, noted a pile of hampster and/or guinee pig food so filled tub with a small amount of water, found tub to pump hose leaking, drained machine,changed part and retested

found leak in drain hose, drained tub,changed hose and retested, no more leaks YAY!

with all rodent damage i then inspected all wiring in machine for damage

asked customer if said rodent had been captured yet, customer reported hampster still on the loose

customer was then advised warranty does not cover rodent damage, i then explained to customer how to construct a live rodent trap with a stack of books a ruler and a 5 gallon pail

customer complaint... set oven to 350, hit start there was a pop and puff of smoke now clock flashes f1

power supply at wall tested ok, removed back panel and inspected wiring, then tested elements for shorts... all tested ok

removed contro panel and lifted main top, inspected all wiring
after all these tests and inspections found no faults i installed the new electronic range control and tested all oven functions

customer complaint.... drawer hitting floor

removed drawer and inspected, found both rear glides missing from the drawers

clipped in both glides part # 3051163

reinstalled drawer and tested then inspected to make sure it was sitting level

left package from glide with customer so they could fix this simple problem themselves next time

frigidaire fridge model pht219whsm1 door wont close

customer complaint.... door wont close all the way

inspected unit, found the door rubbing on the bottom of the fridge liner keeping it from closing all the way, also noted fridge was not sitting level

while leveling the fridge i noticed the bottom hinge was missing its plastic shim washer

removed doors and installed shim washer part #240311303(*note* this is not the correct washer for this model, the hinge is larger on on models with water dispensors)
i had to take the shim out to the truck and use the dremmel to make the hole in the washer slightly larger

reinstalled doors then leveled fridge, replaced all food on door and retested door to make sure it still closed with all the extra weight

*note* leveling is very important and larger new fridges cause if they are sitting at an angle the whole cabinet will twist and cause the doors to bind or sit crooked

frigidaire range model cfef372cs2 front glass fell out

customer complaint.... glass was loose and fell out

removed tape customer had secured glass with, removed front glass, then removed top trim and tightened the handle screws,reinstalled top trim and reinstalled the front glass

advised customer if the handle ever becomes loose again they should not wait so long to call for service because they could have broken the front door glass

the front glass is held in at the top by 2 tiny tabs, when the handle becomes loose the top trim can lift up allowing the glass to pop out at the top and swing down

frigidaire washer model fws1233fs1 lid wont open

customer complaint... lid wont open

checked machine, lid lock was jammed
released spring clips under top,removed front panel and inspected latch, found latch to be bent and jammed
replaced lid lock/latch assembly with part #134101800
i had noted boxes around the apartment when i arrived so questioned tenants and confirmed they had just moved in.. explained to the tenant that the lid on frigidaire washers locks during spin and remains locked for several minutes after the cycle has finished
they now know to be patient and not try to force the lid open

also explained the new washer does not fill the tub to the top and hot wash adds some cold water(this is to meet energy efficiency guidelines)
